These are small rooms that take the worst abuse in the house: road salt, snowmelt, and a washing machine that will eventually leak.

Salt and snowmelt
Between November and March an Ohio entry gets standing water and road salt daily. Waterproof-surface plank handles that, but salt residue should be wiped rather than left to dry, and a good mat inside the door saves the floor more than any spec does.
Appliances
Washers and dryers are heavy point loads that get dragged in and out. A denser SPC core resists denting better here. Plan how the appliance gets moved during installation, because that has to happen before the floor goes down.
Under and around
Decide up front whether the floor runs under the appliances. Running it under is cleaner and future proof, and it matters if you ever swap for a different sized machine.
Small rooms, real prep
Little rooms often have the worst subfloors, because that is where past leaks happened. We check for soft spots and write any repair into the scope before installation day.
